This conference is only intended for nurses and medical assistants who work at BSAS/DPH funded OBATs and are providing Medication for Addiction Treatment utilizing the Nurse Care Manager Model. All DPH/BSAS funded STATE OBAT Nurses and Medical Assistants are required to attend.
After attending this conference, participants will be able to: understand the context and treatment recommendations for SUD patients with STIs or Hepatitis A, B, or C; appropriately utilize recovery coaches in the addiction care team; understand the relationship between the use of THC, Cannabinoids, inhalants, vaping, and substance use disorders; understand how to improve the continuity of care for incarcerated patients and those otherwise involved with the criminal justice system; and implement strategies to work with patients affected by recent increases in HIV infection and methamphetamine use.
Boston Medical Center Grayken Center for Addiction, This event is funded by grants from the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Bureau of Substance Addiction Services.
The application to award contact hours has been submitted to Boston Medical Center. Boston Medical Center is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by American Nurses Association, Massachusetts, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
