This training is meant for Registered Nurses (RNs) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) working in the addiction field who are interested in becoming Certified Addictions Registered Nurse (CARN) or a Certified Addictions Registered Nurse - Advanced Practice (CARN-AP). The course is intended to support nurses studying for the certification exam by reviewing content covered in the exam and providing additional educational resources relevant to the exam.

Grayken TTA is offering a FREE exam review course for RNs and APRNs who are working in the addiction field and interested in becoming a Certified Addictions Registered Nurse (CARN) or a Certified Addictions Registered Nurse - Advanced Practice (CARN-AP). This course is intended to support nurses studying for the CARN and CARN-AP exams by reviewing the material the exams will cover. Eligibility criteria for the CARN and CARN-AP certifications can be found on C-NET's website.
This program's contact hours can be used toward the addictions continuing education contact hours needed to sit for the exam.
Registered Nurses (RNs) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) with experience treating patients with addiction who intend to sit for the CARN or CARN-AP exam.
Judith is a clinical nurse educator for or Boston Medical Center's (BMC) Grayken Center for Addiction Training and Technical Assistance and a board certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who has a private practice and works at an inpatient substance use disorder treatment facility. Judith earned her master’s in nursing from Regis College and is certified as a Certified Addiction Registered Nurse – Advanced Practice (CARN-AP) through the Addictions Nursing Certification Board.
Vanessa Loukas, MSN, FNP-C, CARN-AP (she/her)Vanessa is a clinical nurse educator for Boston Medical Center's (BMC) Grayken Center for Addiction Training and Technical Assistance, a Family Nurse Practitioner in General Internal Medicine at BMC, and an assistant professor of medicine at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. Vanessa earned her master’s in nursing from Simmons University and is certified as a Certified Addiction Registered Nurse – Advanced Practice (CARN-AP) through the Addictions Nursing Certification Board.

REQUIREMENTS for credit
This is a two-part training. You must attend both parts 1 & 2 to be eligible for credit or a certificate of completion.
Please note this policy is strictly enforced for accreditation purposes. Participants will forfeit collection of credit and certificates of completion if more than 10 minutes of the training is missed.

Nursing Contact Hours: 6.00 number of contact hours of which 2.00 are eligible for pharmacology credit.
