This training will provide the foundational knowledge regarding the disease of addiction and an introduction into treatment options utilizing medications for opioid use disorder.

Description

This training is appropriate for all health care organization staff, including non-clinicians. The training covers stigma, the disease model of addiction, and provides an overview of evidence-based treatment of substance use disorders.

Staff of the Community Clinic of Maui dba Mālama I Ke Ola Health Center 

Objectives

By the end of this training, participants will have achieved foundational knowledge regarding substance use disorders and chronic medical conditions, and they will be able to identify at least three strategies to help manage substance use disorders.

Accreditation information

Boston Medical Center grants 1.0 contact hours to all nurses who attend this course and complete the evaluation.
