This training will provide an overview to the history and epidemiology of the current addiction epidemic, the stigma associated with substance use disorders, and treatment options for SUD patients.

This training will cover the basics of addiction medicine including: the disease model of substance use disorders; the epidemiology of the addiction epidemic; an overview of major substances of use including alcohol, opioids, and stimulants; and treatment options for patients with substance use disorders.

Boston Medical Center grants 2.00 hours to all nurses who attend, complete the evaluation, and complete the post test.
