As part of the twice-monthly MA OBAT ECHO® series, Charmaine Lastimoso, MSN, NP-C, MPH, CARN-AP, will describe the relationship between substance use disorders and brain injuries. She will also recognize the impact of brain injury on fundamental cognitive skills and identify screening and treatment needs for patients with brain injury. The didactic session will be followed by a de-identified patient case presentation from an ECHO® participant, along with recommendations from the panel of experts and attendees.

She will also identify practical, trauma-informed strategies to reduce re-traumatization, enhance patient engagement, and support recovery-oriented care for people with SUD. The didactic session will be followed by a de-identified patient case presentation from an ECHO® participant, along with recommendations from the panel of experts and attendees.
