This training will provide prescribers with the skills needed to implement addiction treatment in a practice setting. This training will describe alcohol withdrawal syndrome, with attention to alcohol hallucinosis and its distinction from delirium tremens. Risk factors for severe alcohol withdrawal will be reviewed, as well as assessment and medications to treat severe withdrawal, with a focus on the inpatient setting.
