Topic: Buprenorphine
This two-hour course will provide prescribers with the skills needed to implement addiction treatment in a practice setting. It is intended to provide prescribers with practical, evidence-based strategies for initiating and maintaining medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) as well as tools to care for patients with ongoing use and/or polysubstance use.

Primary care providers can effectively manage patients with alcohol use disorder (AUD). There are high rates of engagement in primary care compared to specialty services, and people generally trust and confide in their primary care provider. This training will provide an overview for managing persons with AUD in the primary care setting, including review of common medical complications associated with chronic alcohol use and laboratory evaluation in persons with AUD.

Topic: Alcohol
Many people experiencing mild alcohol withdrawal syndrome can be successfully managed in the outpatient setting, allowing less interruption to one’s professional, family, and/or social obligations. This training will provide an overview of alcohol withdrawal assessment and management in an outpatient setting. Participants will be able to identify the signs of alcohol withdrawal and appropriate candidates for outpatient withdrawal management. Validated tools to assess alcohol withdrawal will be reviewed, and evidence-based medication for outpatient alcohol withdrawal management will be discussed.
