As part of the twice-monthly SUD Care Continuum ECHO® series, Dina Gonslaves-Perez will explain the relationship between substance use disorder (SUD) and exercise and discuss how exercise is a component of holistic approach to SUD treatment. The didactic will be followed by a de-identified patient case presentation from an ECHO® participant and recommendations from the panel of experts and attendees.

Topic: Recovery Month Series
This training will identify potential gaps in care for individuals in recovery, with specific strategies of how care team members can help to overcome them. Through a moderated panel discussion, we will hear three unique and varied stories from individuals who identify as being in recovery, with the goal of identifying barriers and facilitators to recovery. Knowledge gaps among healthcare teams, including recognizing the varied paths of individuals in recovery, will be identified. In turn, this will bolster teams’ abilities to understand the unique experiences of individuals in recovery while better facilitating support for them.

Topic: Alcohol
This training will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of public health strategies to prevent excessive alcohol use, focusing on environmental, community, and policy-based interventions. Participants will explore how increased alcohol outlet density impacts a community, highlighting the correlation between higher density and elevated levels of alcohol-related harm. Additionally, we will learn about key policy approaches to limit alcohol access, such as restricting hours of sale and limiting days of sale. The training will also delve into how increased taxation can effectively reduce alcohol consumption by making it less affordable.

Individuals should take our exam review course or have the associated knowledge base before taking this test-taking strategies training to maximize the benefits of doing practice questions to prepare for the exam.
